I just installed the latest version of UniServer Zero and had a lot of trouble figuring out how to start the server because nothing showed up on my screen after running UniController.exe. It was only by accident that I clicked the "Show hidden icons" in my Windows taskbar and saw the "U" logo there.

Please show the UniServer window by default when running the program normally; it's always possible to run a program as "Minimized" using a shortcut, which would be an indication that the user wants the program to only show up in the Windows taskbar.

I am running UniServer on a Windows 7 x64 machine.

I'd like to second this.  I've used UniServer in the past and expected the UniServer window to open when I launched the application.  I could see the application running in the task manager and thought something was wrong because no window was opening.  The icon was hidden for me and if it weren't for the previous message I wouldn't have thought to look for one.

I'm also running UniServer on a Windows 7 x64 machine.
