Connecting to existing mySQl db

I have a mySQL db already how do I configure US to use this db, instead of the blank created by US. I get a MySQL said: Documentation

#1045 - Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: YES), when I try to access the db using myPHPAdmin

What do you mean a MySQL DB. Do you mean a MySQL database of your own? All you have to do is copy the DB over to the data directory in the mysql folder of /usr/local/mysql/ and phpmyadmin should be able to read it.

 

If you mean another MySQL server, then you have to edit the config.inc.php file and chnage the setting to your own MySQL server. The one you already installed.
