  1. Okay, I was running the stop.bat file. I'm not sure if but it looks as though the backup soft. doesn't manage commands very well. I suspect it has something to do with the command being run outside the unisrv. root dir. The scheduler can run any file or raw command. I was wondering if perhaps there wasn't a better way to shut it down than running the batch file?
  2. Hi, I have been using uniservr for several weeks now and it has been working very nicely as a application development webserver. Recently I decided to add my critical files to my nightly backup procedure and found that my MySQL data cannot be backed up properly while the process if running. Luckily my backup software allows for pre/post command options to help shutdown and restart applications under such conditions. The problem is every time I run the command Stop.bat, whenever the back is completed, it hangs on the Server_Start.bat command every single time. It gives a message about Drive W waiting or being in use or something of the sort. Is there any way around this? I can stop /start the server manually without any such issues, the only time this comes up is when I run the commands through my backup scheduler.
  3. Okay, I have been fiddling with things and ran across the issue again today. The end result seems as though the server runs locally but will note route through the assigned domain, even though it does resolve to my IP I can access the site via loopback(localhost) but not via www.mydomainname.com - [Sat Aug 11 15:27:26 2007] [notice] Child 416: Starting 250 worker threads. - [Sat Aug 11 15:27:26 2007] [notice] Child 416: Acquired the start mutex. - [Sat Aug 11 15:27:26 2007] [notice] Child 416: Child process is running - [Sat Aug 11 15:27:26 2007] [notice] Parent: Created child process 416 - [Sat Aug 11 15:27:26 2007] [notice] Server built: Jul 27 2006 15:55:03 - [Sat Aug 11 15:27:26 2007] [notice] Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) PHP/5.2.3 configured -- resuming normal operations - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:37 2007] [notice] Child 1764: Starting 250 worker threads. - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:37 2007] [notice] Child 1764: Acquired the start mutex. - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:37 2007] [notice] Child 1764: Child process is running - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:37 2007] [notice] Parent: Created child process 1764 - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:37 2007] [notice] Server built: Jul 27 2006 15:55:03 - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:37 2007] [notice] Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) PHP/5.2.3 configured -- resuming normal operations - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:11 2007] [notice] Child 2844: Starting 250 worker threads. - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:11 2007] [notice] Child 2844: Acquired the start mutex. - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:11 2007] [notice] Child 2844: Child process is running - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:11 2007] [notice] Parent: Created child process 2844 - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:11 2007] [notice] Server built: Jul 27 2006 15:55:03 - [Sat Aug 11 15:26:11 2007] [notice] Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) PHP/5.2.3 configured -- resuming normal operations - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:58 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] \r, referer: http://localhost/apanel/cgi-bin/includes/lang/en/rserver.cgi - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:58 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] The specified service does not exist as an installed service.\r, referer: http://localhost/apanel/cgi-bin/includes/lang/en/rserver.cgi - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:58 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] \r, referer: http://localhost/apanel/cgi-bin/includes/lang/en/rserver.cgi - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:58 2007] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] System error 1060 has occurred.\r, referer: http://localhost/apanel/cgi-bin/includes/lang/en/rserver.cgi - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:49 2007] [notice] Child 3252: Starting 250 worker threads. - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:49 2007] [notice] Child 3252: Acquired the start mutex. - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:49 2007] [notice] Child 3252: Child process is running - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:49 2007] [notice] Parent: Created child process 3252 - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:49 2007] [notice] Server built: Jul 27 2006 15:55:03 - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:49 2007] [notice] Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) PHP/5.2.3 configured -- resuming normal operations - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:34 2007] [notice] Child 2788: Starting 250 worker threads. - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:34 2007] [notice] Child 2788: Acquired the start mutex. - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:34 2007] [notice] Child 2788: Child process is running - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:34 2007] [notice] Parent: Created child process 2788 - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:34 2007] [notice] Server built: Jul 27 2006 15:55:03 - [Sat Aug 11 15:08:34 2007] [notice] Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) PHP/5.2.3 configured -- resuming normal operations - [Sat Aug 11 13:54:25 2007] [notice] Child 2180: Starting 250 worker threads. - [Sat Aug 11 13:54:25 2007] [notice] Child 2180: Acquired the start mutex. - [Sat Aug 11 13:54:25 2007] [notice] Child 2180: Child process is running - [Sat Aug 11 13:54:25 2007] [notice] Parent: Created child process 2180 - [Sat Aug 11 13:54:25 2007] [notice] Server built: Jul 27 2006 15:55:03 - [Sat Aug 11 13:54:25 2007] [notice] Apache/2.0.59 (Win32) PHP/5.2.3 configured -- resuming normal operations - Error in my_thread_global_end(): 1 threads didn't exit - [Sat Aug 11 13:52:57 2007] [notice] Parent: Child process exited successfully. - [Sat Aug 11 13:52:56 2007] [notice] Child 2300: Child process is exiting - [Sat Aug 11 13:52:56 2007] [notice] Child 2300: All worker threads have exited. - [Sat Aug 11 13:52:56 2007] [notice] Child 2300: Waiting for 250 worker threads to exit. - [Sat Aug 11 13:52:55 2007] [notice] Child 2300: Released the start mutex - [Sat Aug 11 13:52:54 2007] [notice] Child 2300: Exit event signaled.   4. Okay thanks for the tips. I flushed the logs and will keep tabs on them from this point on. I noticed the access.log was a bit large. Any way to adjust limits to those?
  5. I have been running US for several days now and it has been very good. However, I have been struggling with one little issue and I'm not sure if it is a config issue or a quirk in the software. Whenever, my DSL connection disconnects or recycles, I cannot access the server again unless I shut it down manually and restart it again. Even so. it seems to take a few tried until I can access the server at any level (loopback or through external DNS) Heres my config: x64 XP Pro Dual core Opteron 4GB ram PPPoE DSL connection DynSite DNS updater EasyDNS domain ucUniTray uniserver 3.5 My You have 1 hosts in your httpd.conf file: mydomainname.com <(changed for privacy)
  6. Thanks for the prompt reply. I must say I am very impressed by this package. To date, I have worked with Abyss webserver(enterprise ver) then I moved to Wamp and then finally XAMPP. However, out of the three uniform server is by far the best package! my 2 cents.
  7. Nevermind, I found the error. The security center looks for an .htaccess file in the server document root. I removed it since I was not going to use it.
  8. I noticed that Uniform Server runs on a virtual drive and so I was a little perplexed as two why the apache.exe process was not working with my firewall. However, I found two apache.exe services running under my task manager, so I wondered if this is a necessary function of the server per say or a configuration issue. If it is intended to run this way, I wondered if both instances will present memory and processor loads also.
  9. Great looking windows server! I have been chopping away at this and I stumbled upon this error after activating the http authentication for the admin dir d:\Uniform Server\udrive\home\admin\www\.htaccess Warning: file_get_contents(w:/www/.htaccess) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in W:\home\admin\www\security.php on line 132 SECURITY MSG
