  1. Well people it would seem that no one is able to help me with my previous problem, but now I think I may have made it easier (well I hope so), what I've done is I'm using the Apache from my new uniserver 4.3 and Mysql from my old uniserver and my site is running fine, what I want to know is can I get my old UniController to point to and start Apache in the uniserver4.3 is this possible. Thank people pappy
  2. Ok as there is no reply I've tried to to migrate to uniserver4.3 but now I can only access the site though localhost, when I try my domain it goes to the uniform server page, dose anyone know what is going on pappy
  3. I don't no if this may help but I've just downloaded and installed uniserver 2.3 and it worked, so I know it's not my system, I am wondering if there is something I have to edit to tell the server that it has been moved. Don't know if this help (I hope so) Thanks again pappy
  4. hello people, I've got a problem with my Apache it will not start even though I've turned off my firewall and anti-virus. I've just move it from another machine due to a mobo failure, I've move it around from machine to machine many time's before and never had a problem. The thing is that when I turn apache on I can see it activate in my task manager then go straight off, I also can not access 127.0.0.1 from my browser. I don't know if anyone could help but even if someone could point me in the right direction I will be greatful Thanks pappy
  5. Ok I know what it is , it's a add on or plugin for GD library, I've now installed it on my computer but I don't know how to add it to apache If there is anyone who has any ideas or could poit me in the right direction (in basic english please) it will be appreciated Thanks again
  6. Thanks for your reply, I take a look at that link Thanks again
  7. Hi all I've got yet anther problem, hopefully the last. My website is CMS and I've just been told that if I want to use the image verification on my sign up page I need to have freetype support on my server, so my quesion is dose uniform server support freetype or dose anyone even know what it is. Just some background, I've just upgraded to 4.1-Mona ( 10/10) Thank for any help you can give. pappy....................
  8. Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a try
  9. HI everyone I've got a site built from a cms which uses pageID's etc, you have the facility to use mod-rewrite to change the url's to html extensions. When I turn it on I get page not found on this server or you don't have permission. when I question this with the people who built the cms apparently you are supposed to just turn it on and away you go. I was wondering if any could explain the correct way to use this facility. thanks for any help UploadAproperty
  10. Thanks for your reply I think I found what the problem was, at dyndns the site was registered as mysite.dyndns.org, and the same with my router but on my site I had named it http://www.mysite.dyndns.org, also had to make some small changes to virtual host doc. seem to working ok now even though yahoo still thinks I don't exist but who need them when you've got the wonderful world of google Tthanks agin
  11. I used a url checker (validator.w3.org) and got this: 500 Can't connect to www.uploadaproperty.dyndns.org:80 (Bad hostname 'www.uploadaproperty.dyndns.org')
  12. I was wondering if there would be a way to to pin down my connection problems yahoo say my site dose not exist when I use site explorer, when I try to add back links can never connect, I get a 500 error. If I type in my url into the address bar the site works if I access through google it works so I don't know what's going on. I have dyndns url I check the updating everything is ok. what I am here for is to find out if anyone has any idea of how I could pin down where the problem would lie, where I should start or any tools I could use. Thanks in advance I do appreciate all the help you guys have given me in the past. Thank you..........
  13. Thanks for your reply Ric... sorry I took so long to reply, I don't no what's going on really, what I' done so far is turned of the anti virus (comodo , had avast but it interfered with my mail server) and windows firewall , it did make a small improvement but not so that out side world would notice, I should be picking up more ram on Tuesday so hopefully that may make a difference. I've been searching though the net to find anything on speeding up localhost, hardly anything but I did see something about enable query cache in mysql, so I'm going to look into how I go about doing that. On a completely different note I looked though my access log (usr\local\apache2\logs) this morning and saw something strange and I was wondering if you could tell if my site is being attacked by someone or something, here are some short section of the log: 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:40 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.5.6-rc2/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 321 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:41 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.5.6/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 317 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:41 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.5.7/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 317 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:41 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.5.7-pl1/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 321 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:41 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.6.0-alpha/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 323 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:42 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.6.0-alpha2/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 324 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:42 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.6.0-beta1/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 323 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:42 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.6.0-beta2/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 323 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:42 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.6.0-rc1/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 321 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:54:42 +0000] "GET /phpMyAdmin-2.6.0-rc2/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 321 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:35 +0000] "GET /sql/sqlmanager/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 315 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:35 +0000] "GET /sql/sqlmanager/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 315 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:35 +0000] "GET /sql/p/m/a/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 310 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:35 +0000] "GET /sql/pMA2005/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 312 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:35 +0000] "GET /sql/pma2005/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 312 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:35 +0000] "GET /sql/phpmanager/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 315 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:36 +0000] "GET /sql/php-myadmin/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 316 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:36 +0000] "GET /sql/phpmy-admin/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 316 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:36 +0000] "GET /sql/sql/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 308 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:36 +0000] "GET /sql/myadmin/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 312 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:36 +0000] "GET /sql/webadmin/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 313 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:37 +0000] "GET /sql/sqlweb/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 311 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:37 +0000] "GET /sql/websql/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 311 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:55:37 +0000] "GET /sql/webdb/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 310 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:12 +0000] "GET /db/dbadmin/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 311 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:12 +0000] "GET /db/pMA2006/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 311 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:12 +0000] "GET /db/pma2006/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 311 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:13 +0000] "GET /db/dbmanager/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 313 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:13 +0000] "GET /db/dbmanager/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 313 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:13 +0000] "GET /db/p/m/a/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 309 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:13 +0000] "GET /db/pMA2005/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 311 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:14 +0000] "GET /db/pma2005/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 311 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:14 +0000] "GET /db/phpmanager/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 314 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:14 +0000] "GET /db/php-myadmin/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 315 "-" "-" 81.93.138.210 - - [01/Dec/2008:00:56:14 +0000] "GET /db/phpmy-admin/main.php HTTP/1.0" 404 315 "-"-" This very well may be nothing to worry about but I am lacking in knowledge to understand these processes, I run my site from localhost so why would something or someone try to get into my data base any thanks for the help you have already given me and any in the future Thanks again
